Patrick has a BA in International Studies from Florida International University and is a Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialist through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals. In addition to being a consumer of assistive technology, Patrick has extensive experience providing professional development and adapting the presentation and materials for a varied audience. He has more than ten years’ experience in consulting and supporting individuals, organizations, education, government and corporations in the areas of Assistive Technology assessments and integration solutions, accessibility compliance and remediation and universal design practices.

Body of Knowledge

  • Web Design: Skilled in Web Design that conforms to the Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines. Have strong knowledge of web development technologies and platforms.
  • Computer Networking: Install, configure, establish, and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks. Have solid understanding of underlying networking topologies and theories, including the OSI model and CISCO IOS, Windows, Apple, and Linux server provisioning, installation, configuration, and management.
  • Computing Platforms: Convert project or departmental requirements into technical specifications in the selection, installation, virtualization, configuration, interoperability and management of client/server hardware and software I.E. (Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS/iOS Mobile devices).
  • Assistive Technology: Provide sales and marketing, selection, assessment, integration, support, and instruction on all major classifications of Assistive Technology for the visually impaired.
  • Marketing: Identify target markets and demographics, develop with Microsoft Office appropriate accessible materials I.E. (Newsletters, Braille, large print, printed, electronic, Audio/Video)to communicate and meet marketing or training objectives, identify strategies and evaluation criteria’s to determine program success.
  • Management: Managed large Assistive Technology endowment grants including the entire procurement process. Developed team-oriented goals, directed, instructed, coached, and mentored others in a team setting. Reported regularly to upper management to ensure that team-goals were documented and achieved.
